Playhouse, Edinburgh

2021 – 2024

Project Value: £5m+

Client: Ambassador Theatre Group

Contractor: Colorado, GF Holdings

Edinburgh Playhouse is the largest UK venue in the ATG portfolio at over 3,000 cap. The wing space of the site is inadequate for scene docking, and there had been a scaffolding structure in place since 1987 to dock the scenery. This was a large-scale structural project to create a large permanent scene dock, with the foundations to enable us to develop above the dock at a later date. This had a tight timeframe for delivery as it needed to be completed ahead of the Disney tour of Beauty and the Beast. I took the project from contractors being on site, through to completion.

Following this, a largescale refurbishment of the entire venue took place, which included the reintegration of Habana Bar into the Theatre, to create new F&B and WC within the venue.
